Unlocking Opportunities in Tower Hamlets
Based in Canary Wharf, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, we are far too aware of the economic divide that exists within our local community. Just a stone’s throw away from one the world’s leading financial hubs, young people face limited career prospects due to generational unemployment and hardship in the area. That’s why we have partnered with local charity, The Switch, to give back to the community that supports us. The programme is aimed at bridging the gap between education and employment, empowering young people with the tools and resources they need to thrive, now and in the future.
Our Work
Titan's work in the community equips the youth of Tower Hamlets with skills and experience they need for the professional world. Working with The Switch, Titan staff will have the opportunity to volunteer their time and expertise to support young people with ongoing skills-based initiatives like CV writing, interviews, assessment centres and more. The programme also offers placements with Titan, where students gain invaluable work experience to boost their CV. During these placements, students will experience the IT industry first hand and can expand their professional network for their future career in the industry.

In Tower Hamlets, inter-generational unemployment and welfare dependence persist, constraining youth career prospects. Despite advancements in education, the area struggles with enduringly high youth unemployment. Educators have noted that youths lack exposure to career pathways and employer expectations, leading to constrained aspirations. Through comprehensive skill-building, career education, and employment initiatives, our goal is to break this cycle of disadvantage and ensure equitable opportunities for all children to fulfil their potential.
